Lovely Love

Well, today is the hangover of Valentine's Day roses/flowers, chocolates, dinners, wines, cards, candies, hugs and kisses.

Not to say that the above are not nice treats to have on an appointed day...not at all, but why keep these things on Valentine's Day? Why make such a to-do on ONE specified day of the year? The Bible tells us that some of us will esteem one day more than another, while the others will esteem one day the same as the next. I admit I do a little of both. Mine just don't always fall onto the calendar-esteemed obligations of the days.

Last year, my church's yearly focus was on God's Extreme Love that He has for us. The focus passage came from 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 with the supplemental verse of John 15:13-15, more specifically verse 13:

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

God exemplified Love because God IS love. He is aMAZing Love. He is amazing Love that WE can not only HAVE but BE when we are His and He is our friend. Love is indeed a universal language most of us understand, know, and can share.

Charity=Love

Love should be on the forefront of our being. The Bible tells us to think on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, of virtue, and worthy of any praise~~Philippians 4:8-9.

Love does not require time. Love does not require space. Love does not require matter. There is no limit to Love and there is no restriction against Love. Love not only makes the world go 'round but it also harmonizes the world. Love seeks peace. Love seeks to build up other people. Love sees the best in every thing and every one. Love forgives where pain exists. Love is so patient, gentle and encouraging. Love brings with it traits desired by people from all walks of life and from any era known to man. Love is eternal.

Traditionally, Valentine's Day is literally celebrated only one day of the year. It is reportedly a specialized day to express Love to each other. However, eternal love needs to be celebrated every single day of our lives. Love makes us faithful. Jesus Christ is my Ultimate Best Friend Forever. He loves me so much that He had already called me friend when He died in my sins, was buried in my sorrows, and rose again to let me live eternally in love with Him.

Love...so amazing...so universal...so eternal...and so priceless.
